Full Show Notes

After a hectic five years in corporate America, she decided to make a change and find zen in massage therapy school. She unpacks the process of giving up a steady paycheck to making the leap into a new career.

Diane shares the importance of having a good business mentor. We discuss how to go about finding a mentor as a business owner.

We talk about the stigma and shame that many people feel for even asking the question “What do I want to do?” when you are in your 30s, 40s, or 50s because you may feel like you should already know. It takes courage to pivot.

Many times a career pivot comes out a time of scarcity when we are forced because of COVID-19, an organizational shift, or a shift in the market. It’s during these times that we are forced to get creative and out of our comfort zone and that oftentimes leads to the greatest innovations.

At the core of her new career as a mortgage lender, she still gets to do that same thing: help people. Mortgage lending has been incredibly busy in 2020, which many are calling the year of the refinance.

Diane shares about how she and her friend created their own networking group, and what they learned along the way.

We talk about the future of offices being hybrid and how it is a shame that it took something like COVID to prove that it can work for businesses.
